Claire McKinney has been working in public relations for over 20 years. She has appeared on the Today show and CSPAN as an expert on publishing and she travels regularly to speak to audiences about Digital and Traditional PR. Some of her clients include Douglas Wood, James Jennings, and Scholastic. She started her work in publishing at Hyperion Books for Children where she launched their imprint featuring African-American authors and books. Her career has included senior level positions in NYC at Putnam, Bloomsbury (USA), Little, Brown, Miramax, and Henry Holt and Company. She is also the author of Do You Know What A Book Publicist Does: A Guide To Creating Your Own Campaigns.
Keely Flanagan has been at Claire McKinneyPR for over two years specializing in media relations. Her background is in education, however, she traded the classroom for campaigns and hasn’t looked back. Some of the clients she works with include Scholastic and Loyola Press. Her media placements have included features in the Chicago Tribune and Family Circle. In her spare time, she can be found online shopping, reading a book, hanging out with friends, and occasionally watching bad reality television.
