Fashion Week Brooklyn S/S 2016FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

“DESTINATION BROOKLYN”
Fashion Week Brooklyn Features Emerging Designers
for Spring 2016 Season in Select Brooklyn Locales

Brooklyn, New York, September 22nd–Non-profit BK|Style Foundation (BK|SF) and Fashion Week Brooklyn (FW|BK) are celebrating their 9th year of fashion with a bi-annual event. The Spring/Summer 2016 Collections starts on Monday, October 19th through Sunday, October 25th, 2015.

In keeping with this year’s theme “Destination Brooklyn,” throughout the week there will be exhibitions, fashion presentations, and emerging and established designers will showcase their SS 2016 Collections in Downtown Brooklyn (supported by Downtown Brooklyn Partnership), Red Hook, Fort Greene, Bed Stuy, and other dynamic BK locales. In March 2014 Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams formally recognized FW|BK as Brooklyn’s premiere fashion event, and this year the show will be a borough-wide experience showcasing the diversity of talent, spaces, art, and fashion.

Some highlights of the upcoming FW|BK include a presentation by eco-friendly, students and innovative designers on Thursday, October 22nd, as well as “Collections of Couture and RTW” on Friday, October 23rd in conjunction with a fundraiser for Denim Day NYC (sexual assault/violence prevention and awareness). Every year BK|Style Foundation and FW|BK recognize charities that they are working with to gain support. BK|Style Foundation has worked with MTV Staying Alive Foundation, Soles4Souls Foundation, and HIV/AIDS awareness programs. Finally, the show will culminate in exciting runway displays on Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th.
